About this Cause

Friends of Shelby is working to complete the one-mile walking loop around Lake Sevier in Shelby Park, creating a continuous, ADA-compliant path for walkers of all ages. Currently, one unfinished section forces pedestrians to walk alongside moving cars and navigate uneven pavement. Completing the loop will improve safety, accessibility, and comfort with smoother surfaces, safer crossings, benches, and clear signage. This long-planned project will make one of the park’s most popular walking routes safer and more welcoming for everyone.
